曲によって声を使い分けているのが、ニルソンのスゴいところで、コーラスもひとりで多重録音を行っている。3分弱だが“The Puppy Song”は多彩なヴォーカルを楽しめる。
“I Guess the Lord Must Be in New York City”は、“真夜中のカーボーイ”のためにニルソンが用意した曲。
レノン=マッカートニーの“Mother Nature's Son”、ジェリー・ジェフ・ウォーカーの“Mr. Bojangles”、ランディ・ニューマンの“Simon Smith and the Amazing Dancing Bear”と秀逸なカヴァーもいい。
ノスタルジック溢れるニルソンの魅力を感じられる、聴いておきたいアルバムのひとつ。
