黒人シンガーがカントリー・ソングを歌うようになったのは、レイ・チャールズの1962年のアルバム“Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music”がきっかけだろう。
どの曲もカントリーって感じではなく、ソウル・テイストにアレンジされているので聴きやすいと思える。まだまだ手が回らないが、オリジナルをいつかは聴いてみたい気がする。
