David Bowie / Loving the Alien (1983-1988)

デヴィッド・ボウイが世界的なスターとなった80年代のアルバム“Let's Dance”、“Tonight”、“Never Let Me Down”の3枚のアルバムにライヴ音源とリミックス音源、レアな音源を盛り込んだ、全11枚のCDボックス・セット。
当初は10月にリリース予定だったのが、12月のリリースと待ちに待たされた感じだが、その分期待は膨らみ放題となった。
オリジナル・アルバムは2018リマスターとなっていて、1983年の“Serious Moonlight Tour”と1987年の“Glass Spider Tour”のモントリオールでのライヴはノリに乗ったボウイを聴くことが出来る。
今回の目玉は“Never Let Me Down 2018”だろう。もともとは“Time Will Crawl”のリミックスにスターリン・キャンベルのドラムの音とストリングスを追加した仕上がりにボウイが好感触を得たことからアルバム全体をやり直すことになったようだ。
と、かなり簡単に書いてみたがまだまだ奥が深いボックス・セットとなっている。
オリジナル・アルバムを持っていても、買っておきたいボウイのボックス・セットのひとつ。
