このボックスでは、4枚のディスクに“Soul Songwriter, Soul Producer”、“Stax Singles”、“Cover Man”、“Jam Master”のテーマを基にして選曲されている。これはミュージシャンという括りだけではない、マルチな才能を持ったヘイズならではのことだろう。
このボックスには特典として“Laura, We’re On Our Last Go-Round”と“C.C. Rider”を収録した7インチ・レコードが付いている。
