ザ・ローリング・ストーンズのイギリスでの2ndアルバム。アンドリュー・ルーグ・オールダムのプロデュース。ジャケは“12 X 5”のジャケを使い回して、前作のようにジャケにはレーベル以外の文字は入っていない。
“12 X 5”から“Time Is on My Side”、“Grown Up Wrong”、“Under the Boardwalk”、“Susie Q”の4曲がかぶって収録されている。“Time Is on My Side”はヴァージョンが少し違っている。
“Down Home Girl”と“Pain In My Heart”ではジャック・ニッチェが参加している。
このアルバムは2ヶ月以上も全英チャートの1位をキープしたヒット・アルバムだが、現在はCD屋の店頭では見かけないアルバムとなっている。
