1960年録音。Charles Lloydというとかなり前衛的な演奏をする印象がありますが、バンド・リーダーのChico Hamiltonの顔を立ててか、全体的な印象としてはかなり軽く爽やかです。
ちなみに"Bye Bye Birdie"も"Irma La Douce"もブロードウェイのミュージカルで、このアルバムで取り上げられたのはこれらの挿入歌です。ちなみに"Irma La Douce"はのちに『アパートの鍵貸します』のスタッフで映画化され同名の映画となったもので、『あなただけ今晩は』の邦題が有名ですね。監督・脚本がビリー・ワイルダー、主演ジャック・レモンとシャーリー・マクレーン・・・僕の大好きな面々です。
