「Naeba」(新潟県)
南魚沼郡湯沢町の苗場スキー場。1961年に西武プリンスホテルにより開業、近年はフジロックフェスティバルの会場としても知られる。ペナントは数多い。
これは滑走するスキーヤーを描く作品。ダイカットを施したスポーティーな構成が印象的。全長64cm。

1, 苗場スキー場のペナント。黒い布にイラストをプリント。クリーム色の編み紐、2本付き。
なお、旗の左辺は頂点のある２つのラウンドでダイカットされている。これは紋章やワッペンのデザイン・意匠の引用だろう。
2, イラストはゲレンデを滑走するスキーヤー。雪の積もった樹木や越後の山々も描かれてリアルな印象。スキーヤーはニット帽にゴーグルを着けたカジュアルなスタイル。スキーヤーを囲むように、英字のキャプション "winter. sports Ski" (白)が白いアンダーラインとともに加えられている。
3, タイトルはローマ字・斜体で "Naeba" (赤)。
4, ペナントの右端に、クロスしたスキーの板2枚(黄色)と翼を広げた鷲(?)を組み合わせたマークが描かれている。これはヨーロッパのペナントによく見られる紋章のイメージの引用だろう。
