この1,2年前にアルバム「ダブル・ファンタジー」をリリースしたジョン・レノン。シングルのM-12「(Just Like) Starting Over」がヒットして、ラジオでよく流れていた。
ザ・ビートルズは従兄弟ん家にあったのを3,4枚聴いてた程度だったし、ジョンのソロ曲を聴きたいなと思ってた矢先に、このベストアルバムが出た。当時はレコード盤2枚組。
