Silk Degrees
The 1976 seventh album “Silk Degrees” released on Columbia Records peaked at No. 2 and spent 115 weeks on the Billboard 200, certified five times platinum and remains Boz’s best selling album.
The key for success of this recording must be collaboration with young session musicians who later formed Toto; David Hungate, Jeff Porcaro and David Paich. Jeff Porcaro surely added his beautiful grooves to the album, particularly on “Lowdown”, the first single from the album. “Lido Shuffle” was another proof how Jeff Porcaro was the best drummer in rock history. And David Paich contributed his songwriting talent to 6 songs out of 10 on the album.
Lastly, you would appreciate that 2007 (and later) edition was reissued with three bonus tracks recorded live at the Greek Theatre on 15 August, 1976.
