I already had the mainline version of this car but after seeing pictures of the premium version, I decided to try finding one too. I was lucky that there was someone selling this car loose because I didn't really want to buy an entire set just for 1 car. This car is based on the Martini #3 entry in the 1970 Le Mans 24 Hours. The race was famous for featuring the battle of the Porsche 917's and the Ferrari 512's. The race featured an extended period of rain which partly caused numerous retirements. In the end, there were less than 10 classified finishers. Porsches filled the top 3 and the 2nd and 3rd place cars were both from the Martini team. The #3 Martini car finished 5 laps behind the winning #23 Salzburg 917 K.
