"Dr. Heckle And Mr. Jive" was recorded in Los Angeles with L.A. top studio musicians and released in 1979, after three successful albums; “Nights Are Forever” (1976), “Dowdy Ferry Road” (1977) and “Some Things Don't Come Easy” (1978). The album features “Love Is the Answer" written by Todd Rundgren, the last top 10 hit single of the duo.
The duo split in 1980 when Seals decided to pursue a career in country music.
