Dwayne Ford / Another Way To Fly

0

Dwayne Ford is one of talented Canadian AOR artists who released the album "Needless Freaking" in 1982 fully supported by David Foster and members of Toto; Jeff Porcaro, Mike Porcaro, and Steve Lukather. The album is now said to be one of the classic AOR albums. Let’s look back his earlier days a bit.
Dwayne Ford raised in Edmonton and moved to Toronto in late 1960’s and started his professional career there with Ronnie Hawkins, then he formed Atkinson Danko and Ford, with Jim Atkinson and Terry Danko, The trio recorded self-titled album as “Atkinson Danko And Ford With Brockie And Hilton” in 1972 on Columbia Records, which was re-released as Bearfoot's debut in 1973. A follow-up album “Friend With Bearfoot” came later in that year, but already disbanded when it was released. The third Bearfoot album in 1975, “Passing Time”, was distributed by Columbia as 'Dwayne Ford & Bearfoot,' despite that it was substantially Ford’s solo album recorded with session musicians.

After releasing “Needless Freaking” in 1982, Dwayne continued working as a producer and songwriter in Southern California rather than performer. And he decided the independent route was the way to go, and finished his sophomore solo album, Another Way To Fly in 1996. The style of his music is different but some should remind you of good old 80's sound of his.
