Rick Rhodes / Deep In The Night
Rick Rhodes was well-known as the music composer/producer/director who won many Emmy Awards to his works such as Michael J. Fox's TV Comedy "Family Ties" (NBC Network) and "Guiding Light" (CBS Network). His compositions were used on many TV Program; "Friends" (NBC), "Melrose Place" (Fox) and "General Hospital". The song "Live It Up" featured on the movie "True Lies" (1994) was his composition. His songs were recorded by Patti Austin, Diane Schuur, Tom Scott, Bill Champlin, Joey Scarbury and many others.
It was not widely known that Rhodes was one of talented recording artists in the Adult Contemporary Music scene. This album is basically the US edition of his 1995 album “Indian Summer” only released in Japan and Germany with different order of the tracks.
“Here Comes Around Fool” was replaced by “People Like Us” taken from his first solo album “ Now You See It” also only released in Japan and Germany.
Rhodes had planned to release another album in the summer of 2004. Personally I exchanged certain number of emails with him about the project around in the year of 2003. However it was not achieved because of a malignant brain tumor. Rick Rhodes passed away at the age of 54 on 2 November, 2005. Rest in Peace, dear Rick.
