Andres / The Real Thing
Generally speaking, Andreas Carlsson, Swedish songwriter and music producer became widely known for his works with Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Clay Aiken, Katy Perry and / or Bon Jovi since around 2000. Otherwise he is also known as a judge on the Swedish singing competition shows Idol and The X Factor.
However among us, AOR / Westcoast music lovers, he became well recognised as a collaborator with Bill Champlin by Champlin's 1995 solo album "He Started To Sing" as a co-writer, back vocalist and arranger.
Carlsson released his own solo album "The Real Thing" as Andres in the autumn of 1996. Personally I felt that some songs were a little bit too pop, but Carlsson’s melodies of all songs were very good; some were R&B feel, others were good acoustic. Almost a year later, Japanese edition was released with alternate track listing; “ I'll Be Around” was deleted, instead three bonus tracks were added.
