Venice / Born And Raised

The two sets of Lennon Brothers from Venice, California USA formed the band Venice and released debut single “Theme From The Class Of '65”, as the theme song from the tv show which aired on NBC in 1977-'78., c/w “California Callin’” in 1978 under MCA Records. Mark and Michael Lennon and their cousins, Kipp and Pat Lennon with Stephen McGrath (bass) and Dave Tull (drums) self-released an 4 tracks EP vinyl titled “Do It Yourself” in 1986 but time had not come as yet.
Lennon Brothers finally got an album release deal with Modern Records ( distributed by Atlantic Recording Corporation ), and thus the band Venice self-titled debut album produced by Danny Kortchmar, was on sale in 1990 worldwide. The original 7 Venice band members were Mark Harris (bass), Monroe Jones (keyboards) and Scott Crago (drums, percussion) with 2 sets of Lennon brothers. Whilst the original 7 band members were making demos in early 90’s, which were self-released on CDs; “Garage Demos" (Part 1: Slow Stuff and Part2: Fast Stuff) only for their crazy fans in 1995. (in 2097, “Garage Demos” Part 3: Other Stuff was also self-released.)
It was March 1997 when the time had come. The formal second album “Born And Raised” was released by Vanguard Records, USA, which fully features Venice’s trademarks, that is to say, their harmonies and unplugged type album. Since then, the band has been successful also in Europe, particularly in Netherlands.
