Orleans / Ride
Orleans formed in Woodstock, New York by guitarist John Hall, guitarist/keyboardist Larry Hoppen, drummer Wells Kelly, and bassist Lance Hoppen was very successful in mid 70’s wiith hit songs “Dance with Me” (1975) and “Still the One” (1976). After John Hall left the band in 1977, the new line-up Orleans featuring Bob Leinbach and Robert Martin enjoyed their further success with the hit "Love Takes Time" from the album “Forever” in 1979. After having released albums Orleans 1980) and “One of a Kind” (1982) Orleans struggled in the early 1980s, playing mostly small without a record label before the John Hall reunited album “Grown Up Children” (1986).
Whilst Orleans continued to perform live and released a live album
captured their 2 shows at Woodstock's Bearsville Theater on 6 and 7 October,1990 came out in Japan in February, 1991 (and then US version followed in 1993), they had no deal with any US major labels. Thus, the first studio recording album in 90’s “Analog Men” was released only for Japan in 1994. We had this 10th Orleans “Ride” in 1996.
