Brooklyn born Jay Gruska raised in Caracas, Venezuela, then moved to and spent his teen-age years in Los Angeles, California.
In 1974, Jay Gruska released his first solo album "Gruska on Gruska" produced by Michael Omartian with the guest musicians such as Larry Carlton and Dean Parks. After that, Jay Gruska played with and composed songs for Three Dog Night and so on.
And Jay Gruska is known for his composition such as "What You Are Missing" for Chicago 16 album and/or also known for co-writing the hit duet "Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin' (Too Good to Be True)" for Jermaine and Michael Jackson; the Gloria Loring/Carl Anderson duet "Friends and Lovers". Furthermore, you must remember he is the vocalist of the legendary group MAXUS !
In late 1990’s, he is well known as a musical director of the movies/ TV drama such as "Lois And Clark" (Superman TV series).
