The Master of Funk, An Innovator of Bass, The Legend Francis Rocco Prestia, the bassist of "Tower Of Power", released his first solo album in 1998. The album featured "Tower Of Power" alumni s including David Garibaldi, Herman Matthews, Bruce Conte, Carmen Grillo and Bill Churchville. Without saying, the album is bassist solo album, hence it showcased he bass guitar performances by Rocco. In addition, the album is full of good vocal tunes; Tamara Champlin with Bill, and Carmen Grillo did well.
After releasing this solo album, Rocco had battled serious health issues since 2001 and underwent liver transplant surgery in 2014. Rocco was obliged to depart from Tower of Power again due to his illness in 2018. Rocco passed away on 29 September 2020 at the age of 69;peacefully with his family by his side at a hospice in Las Vegas, Rocco lived his life to play bass and said to be the King of the 16th note for 5 decades.
