Ancient Future (The Lost Years, Part 1)
In 2002, Sembello released his selected collection CD compiled from his 90's works; "Caravan Of Dreams" (1992), "Backwards In Time" (1997) and "Bridge" project (1997) plus his biggest hit "Maniac" jazz version from iRandy Waldman's third solo album "UnReel" (2001). In that era, Michael Sembello was to be more multi-cultual and succeeded to merge such influences into his hyperacid Latin music style. In around 2002, Michael Sembello returned to his roots on the East Coast where it all began and we would see what he would do there. Personally I was guessing that the forthcoming project might be another different cornerstone of his musical journey, but not so many things happened until 2009 when Sembello released an album ‘Moon Island’ with Janey Clewer and Bruce Gaitsch under the name of The Bossa Nova Hotel.
Most of the tracks on this collection CD are basically same as those original version, but some tracks must be differently edited for this CD; basically shorter as shown below;
