The All Japan Sports Prototype Championship or "JSPC" was the precursor to the JGTC/Super GT. I believe they also usually had one round every season that was also counted in the World Endurance Championship of that season. The series was mostly dominated by Porsches, just like in other championships that had Group C cars at the time. In 1989, Toyota introduced the Toyota 89C-V which was designed I believe by Dome. Unfortunately for Toyota, it still wasn't enough to beat the Porsches. The Porsches would manage to win almost every race that year with Toyota managing to win the final race of the season. This No. 50 car was ran by Team SARD and was driven by Roland Ratzenberger and Keiichi Suzuki with a different third driver almost every race. It was not a good year for the team as they would only manage to score 1 point the entire year.
