Another car that would normally not interest me is this Cayenne. I'm glad I got this one because I think it actually looks pretty decent. The condition isn't really that good since it has some paint chips and some paint rashes as well. As far as I know, this one and the Matchbox version are the only 1/64 scale versions of the 1st generation of the Porsche Cayenne which, if I am correct, is actually quite surprising considering the fact that the Cayenne was pretty much responsible for the survival of Porsche in the early 2000s. If I remember correctly, Porsche was not doing too good in the 90's and while the Boxster and the 996-generation 911 saved Porsche from being bankrupt, it was the Cayenne that really ensured their survival for the long-term.
I have mixed feelings about the Cayenne though because in the late 90's, Porsche was developing an LMP car that would have succeeded the Le Mans winning 911 GT1-98. Unfortunately, that LMP project was stopped and I think many people say that the reason for that is Porsche wanted to use the money in developing the Cayenne instead. It's really easy to understand why Porsche did that but as a fan of motorsports, especially prototype cars, I couldn't help but feel disappointed that the LMP project was stopped. This LMP car actually just recently started to make some appearance in some videos released by Porsche and I was actually surprised because for the longest time, Porsche kept the car under wraps and I kinda feel that its existence was some sort of a "myth" to some people.
