Adrian Gurvitz / Classic
Adrian Gurvitz's brightest music career was started when he joined the hard rock band "The Gun" and released the album "Gun" in 1968. Once Adrian Gurvitz disbanded the trio Gun, he started a new heavy rock project "Three Man Army" with his brother Paul and former Spooky Tooth drummer Mike Kellie, and released their debut album "Third Of Life Time" in 1971. "Threee Man Army", "Mahesha" and "Three Man Army II" followed. Adrian then embarked on another venture - "Baker Gurvitz Army", featuring legendary Cream drummer Ginger Baker. The band recorded 3 albums, "Baker Gurvitz Army" (1974), "Elysian Encounter" (1975) and "Hearts Of Fire" (1976). In 1979, Adrian started solo career with the album for Jet Records, "Sweet Vendetta", followed by "Il Assassino" in 1980. Robbie Patton / Distant Shores
England born Robbie Patton started to co-write songs with Kerry Chater in Los Angeles around 1975 and got a position of the staff writer for Elton John’s Rocket Records/Publishing Company. It did not take long before Dolly Parton, Nona Hendryx and Leo Sayers recorded his songs. Dionne Warwick picked up and recorded his song "When The World Runs Out Of Love" co-written with Chris Christian on her 1980 album “No Night So Long”. Patton met and worked with Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac, then he was selected as the opening act for a Fleetwood Mac tour as an artist in 1979 when he released his first solo album “Do You Wanna Tonight” on Backstreet Records - MCA, supported by Jeff Porcaro, Steve Lukather, Mike Porcaro, Michael Landau, Steve George, Bob Welch and many others. Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac would go on to produce Patton's second solo album and played keyboards on them; Lindsey Buckingham also played guitar on Patton's US top 40 hit single, "Don't Give it Up” on Liberty Records, a division of Capitol Records in 1981. Patton returned the favor by co-writing the hit "Hold Me", which appeared on Fleetwood Mac's 1982 masterpiece album “Mirage”. Michael Johnson / Lifetime Guarantee
This is 8th solo album of Michael Johnson, which was the last one of the five albums released under EMI America. And the album was the first album since “Home Free” in 1981, that meant Johnson spent four years to release this. Johnson worked with a number of different producers, and recorded in New York and Los Angeles, and the studio in Los Angeles where LA recording materials were mixed was the Garden Lake Studio. Yes, it is Jay Graydon’s studio. The result was a bit different from the rest of Johnson’s EMI albums. “Lifetime Guarantee” has more pop with soul-feel and mid 1980’s electric sounds rather than simple folky sound. Randy Goodrum wrote a slightly funky tune “Q.T.” It was impressive to find David Sanborn’s contribution. The album title song “Lifetime Guarantee” was written by Chris Montan. The rest four EMI America albums; "Michael Johnson Album"(1978), "Dialogue"(1979), "You Can Call Me Blue"(1980) and "Home Free"(1981) were reissued by Vivid Sound Japan, so this eighth one was the missing one but bit later by Magic Records, France in 1999. Honestly speaking, it was very regrettable for us that Michael had changed his music style more country after leaving EMI America. Release: 1984 Label: EMI America, USA (ST-17104) First Reissued CD Release: June 1999 (Magic Records, France, distributed by EMI Music France, 5213742) Tracks: 1. There's A Love 2.
