Sayit / Again
Tommy Denander, Swedish guitarist/ songwriter aggressively worked on several projects at the same time in early 2000’s. The SAYIT’s second album was one of them and the most melodic and Westcoast-vein. This album featured a real human drummer instead of programming, which made all the tunes alive. You may be surprised to listen to the last tune "Never Gonna Let You Go". Yes, this is the cover originally performed by David Roberts on his legendary solo album "All Dressed Up"(1982). T 'BELL / Replay
“What were they doing until now? T 'Bell, the Swedish new diamonds are now dug out by AOR Heaven.” It was what I I wrote when I reviewed this T’Bell’s album in July 2000. Patrick Tibell, Swedish studio engineer started recording his own materials with Roger Ljunggren, Swedish session guitarist in late 1990’s and the demos were sent to AOR Heaven, Germany. It did not take long to get an album deal with AOR Hevaen. Thus, T’Bell’s album “Replay” was on sale in July 2000 in Europe. Songs on the album were written since the earlier 1980’s inspired by classic rock heroes. When you saw the artworks of the album first time, you must have thought that T ' Bell should play hard edge melodic rock alike the music style of many Swedish / German band who uses a similar type of artworks. It is totally wrong. T ' Bell's music style is more pop and Westcoasty full of harmonies with sophisticated arrangement. I describe that their music style as "Jay Graydon's PLANET 3 meets FOREIGNER". Otherwise, when you listen to "Always Pretending" (Track 5), you may feel that this is "early TOTO meets early BON JOVI". "Life In Disguise" (Track 8) is really the awesome AOR/Westcoast tune with perfect melody, keyboard pattern a little alike Daryl Hall and John Oates' smash hit "Kiss On My List". "Postman" (Track 9) begins with the perfect guitar sounds and killer keyboard rhythm pattern follows. "It's Only Love" (Track 12) is a surprising perfect AOR/Westcoast ballads tune, which reminds me a little AIRPLAY's masterpiece "After The Love Is Gone" because of the keyboard arrangement. Release: July, 2000 (Germany) / 22 October, 2000 (Japan) Label: AOR Heaven - Point Music Distribution, Germany (10164) / Avalon, Marquee Inc., Japan (MICP-10213) Tracks: 1. Do Ya 2. It's Only Love 13. Sorry Elaine * 14.
