Alan Sorrenti / Figli Delle Stelle
The Alan Sorrenti most commercially successful album “Figli Delle Stelle” was released in 1977. The single “Figli Delle Stelle” became smash hit in Italy and is still played on the radio and in clubs. Sorrenti was in Los Angeles and had opportunities to collaborate top musicians including Jay Graydon, who then produced the record, David Hungate from Toto on bass and on keyboards David Foster. Once Sorrenti returned to Italy, he continued the album recording, intending to adopt the same style. This is one of the most successful albums by the Italian artist, with over a million copies sold in Italy alone, and marks a turning point in his musical career which, from the progressive rock that had characterized his previous works, approaches disco music. Various Artists / Cool Treasures - The Unreleased Tracks
Cool Sound now proudly presents you the unreleased rare tracks as “Cool Treasures - The Unreleased Tracks". The opener is the Sneaker 's early years unreleased material "Head Jazz". Tony Sciuto's 1993 ballad tune follows. And David Lasley shows you his hidden talent by 80's unreleased materials. And Bruce Gaitsch offers many unreleased treasures with the great guests such as Michael Sembello, Jim Photoglo, Jason Scheff and Bill Champlin. Please note that some materials are very raw, thus you may feel that something would be missing when you listen to such kind of tracks. Typically, real drums sound should replace the tentative drum-machine track. However, you can enjoy artists' original concept with their high potential energy for new tunes. For example, "Falling In Love" performed by Bruce Gaitsch featuring Bill Champlin is the very original version of "Show Must Go On" which was recorded for the Chicago album " Stone Of Sisyphus". Kenny Marks /Follow Him
Detroit native Kenneth Michael Marks, aka Kenny Marks, moved to Nashville around 1978 with his demos when he was 28 years old or so. Almost a year later, Marks knocked the door of Word, the leading CCM label and succeeded to get a deal with Word/Myrth. However it took almost three years before releasing his first album "Follow Him" produced by Keith Thomas. Since then, Kenny Marks was one of the mainstay artists in CCM. His music had Bryan Adams vibe, personally his voice reminds me of Tommy Funderburk's mid 1980's works, i.e. "Front" and "What If". Someone said that his pop tune had same atmosphere as Nielsen-Pearson's one. Release: 1982 Label: Myrrh, USA (MSB-6714) First Reissued CD Release: 10 March, 2001 (Cool Sound, Inc. Keane
Needless to say, I am not talking about UK alternative band Keane that appeared early 2000’s. Keane is the band of genius Keane brothers from Los Angeles, Tom Patrick Keane (born on 13 March, 1964) and John Morgan Keane (born on 26 April, 1965). As "The Keane Brothers", they released their self-titled first album for 20th century Records in 1977 produced by David Foster and supported by first call L.A. musicians including Jeff Porcaro, Mike Porcaro, Harvey Mason, Lee Sklar, Larry Carlton, Bill Champlin and mot name a few. In 1979, their second album "Taking Off" produced by Lamont Dozier , David Paich and David Foster, followed. Two years later, Keane brothers finished their third album "Keane" under the name of the band "Keane", which was sold about 40,000 copies in Japan and in those days called as "Little Toto" or "Young Toto" for the sound of them. This is the album shown here. The brothers were just 16 and 17 years old then. The opener “Tryin' To Kill A Saturday Night” under the name of Keane Brithers” rather than the band ‘Keane” was featured on the soundtrack of the US comedy movie “Zapped!” (1982) with David Pomeranz “Got to Believe in Magic”, “King & Queen Of Hearts” and Gregg Mathieson Project “Bomp Me”.
