Valerie Carter / Find A River
The late Valerie Carter was one of the remarkable female singers in the West Coast Music scene. She appeared as the singer of the gorup "Howdy Moon", one of whose mrmbers except her was Jon Lind (ex Fifth Avenue Band) in early 70's. After releasing two solo albums Throw Away" and "Wild Child" in late 70's supported by Toto members and other session musicians, we had not got her news for a long time. In 1996, Varelie has come back to the front and released her third solo album "The Way It Is" supported by Jackson Browne's touring band members such including Mark Goldenberg. This “Find A River” is her mini album that includes her favourite songs such as "After The Gold Rush", originally performed by Neil Young in 1970 and "Crazy You", the song from Prince's debut album of 1978. It seems that she enjoyed singing in very calm, gentle and relaxing mood here on this 5 tracks CD. After releasing “Find A River”, she moved to St. Petersburg, Florida to help care for her mother and retired as a professional musician around 2000. She started her own label and released compilation album in 2001 and live CD in 2003, which became the last one.... In 2009, Valerie Carter was arrested in St. Petersburg on drug charges, for cocaine and, two months later, for crack. Valerie ended up not in prison but in drug court, where the sentence is rehab. James Taylor paid the tab for the three-month rehab stint in Texas that qualifed her for a graduation certificate in 2011..... It was very sad new to hear that she died of a heart attack on 4 March, 2017, at the age of 64. Release: 18 November, 1998 Label : Canyon International, Japan (PCCY-01310) Tracks: 1.
