Sweetwater was an American rock band originally from Los Angeles, California. In 1968-69, the band often toured with The Doors. They were also one of the opening acts for Eric Burdon and the Animals in 1968.The band released their debut album"Sweetwater" in 1968. Singer Nansi Nevins was severely injured in a car accident on December 1969. Nansi experienced brain damage for some years following the collision, and one of her vocal cords was permanently damaged. Nansi would never again complete a full album with the band, although she still had some recordings prepared for the next two albums.
あのウッドストックのオープニング・アクトだったはずなのに警官に検問されて遅刻したり、デビュー作発売後にヴォーカルが交通事故で脳と声帯を損傷し歌えなくなるとか、何かと不運なバンド。結局"Sweetwater", "Just For You", "Melon"の3作品を発表しましたが、どれも意欲的でいい作品だけに、いろいろ惜しいですね。
タイトル曲はサルサを大胆に取り入れた10分以上の大曲。
