オールデイズ・レコードからリリースされた、ザ・バンドがカヴァーした曲をテーマを持たせ、全50曲を3枚組に収録したボックス・セット。
ザ・バンドの前身、ザ・ホークス時代にステージで演奏していた曲を集めた1枚目の“Rock‘N'Roll House Party”、ボブ・ディランとのセッションで築いたキャリア初期の“Music For Big Pink”、1973年にリリースされた“Moondog Matinee”でカヴァーされていた曲を集めた“Moondog Matinee Revisited”の3枚となっている。
持っている曲はあるが、このボックスを作る着眼点と曲を集めてリリースしてくれたことが素晴らしい気がする。
5人が並んでいるジャケも素敵だが、微妙な距離感が複雑だったりする。
聴いておきたいボックス・セットのひとつ。
