イギリスのエース・レコードからリリースされたソングライターに焦点を当てた企画アルバムで、デイヴ・バーソロミューの書いた曲を集めたものとなっている。
このアルバムでも数多くの曲が収録されているファッツ・ドミノのパートナーとしてのソングライティングが有名だが、初期のニューオリンズ・サウンドを構築したミュージシャンやプロデューサーとしても有名である。
ビッグ・バンドの演奏やジャンプ・ブルースからロックン・ロールに音楽が進化して行く中でのキーパーソンのひとりの、聴いておきたいアルバムのひとつ。
訃報: ファッツ・ドミノのコラボレーターとして知られるミュージシャン／作曲家／編曲家のデイヴ・バーソロミューが6月23日、ニューオーリンズ郊外の病院で死去。100歳だった…哀悼
