エース・レコードがプロデューサーに焦点を当てた企画アルバムで、シャドウ・モートンが取り上げられている。
プロデューサーの企画になっているが、ブリル・ビルディングでのソングライターとしてのキャリアを忘れてはいけないだろう。ここに収録されている曲は、モートン自身が選曲しているのが素敵な感じがする。前半はソングライターとしての曲、後半はプロデューサーとして携わった曲となっている。
ヴァラエティに富んだ曲が並んでいるのは、モートンの多彩な音楽性を感じられる。
このアルバムがリリースされる直前の2月14日に亡くなったのは残念な気がする。
聴いておきたいアルバムのひとつ。
