イギリスのエース・レコードからリリースされた、ヴェトナム戦争について歌った曲を集めた企画アルバムの第2弾。
1961年1月20日、アメリカ民主党のジョン・F・ケネディが第35代アメリカ合衆国大統領に就任してから、積極的に関与していったためヴェトナム国内の争いは激化していった。
アメリカでは人種差別に対しての歌も歌われたが、その一方で戦地へ送られていく黒人兵士への想いを歌った曲が多く歌われたのもこの頃である。
日本では遠くの出来事のように扱われる“戦争”だが、聴いていると胸を締め付けられるような気がする。
聴いておきたいアルバムのひとつ。
