マーティン・スコセッシ監督が撮ったドキュメンタリー映画“No Direction Home”のサウンドトラックとしてリリースされた。
デビュー前のプライベート録音“When I Got Troubles”、“Rambler, Gambler”や、ホテルで録音された曲などの、デビューしてから1966年までの未発表曲やライヴを録音された順に収録している。
タイムマシンに乗った感じで、ディランに触れる事が出来る内容となっている。
映画を観てからだと、さらに楽しめるかもしれない。
