It was recorded at Island Studios in London, England and released in 1973. The songs on "Desperado" are based on the themes of the Old West. The band members are featured on the album's cover dressed like an outlaw gang; "Desperado" remains the only Eagles album where the band members appear on the front cover. Although the title track is one of the Eagles' signature songs, it was never released as a single. The song "Desperado" was ranked number 494 on Rolling Stone's 2004 list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time". The album did yield two singles, though: "Tequila Sunrise" and "Outlaw Man". Those two singles reached number 64 and number 59 respectively. The album reached number 41 on the Billboard album chart and was certified gold by the RIAA on September 23, 1974, and double platinum on March 20, 2001. "Desperado" was the last Asylum Records album to be distributed in North America by Atlantic Records (catalog no. Nastos awarded the album 3 stars stating "A strangely popular album for Dizzy Gillespie, "Swing Low, Sweet Cadillac" represents a period in his career where he was adapting to the times, keeping his goof factor on board, and individually playing as well as he ever had... This is not an essential listing in the vast discography of such a great jazz artist, but remains a curiosity in his collection, especially considering the two-day time frame where much more music could have been considered to be issued. It is not to be completely ignored, but less worthy than many of his other seminal groundbreaking recordings". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlEmvlbVWQg 冒頭の雄叫びでビックリ。スクリーミン・J・ホーキンスでも間違ってかけたのかと思った。

Following a successful tour in promotion of The Yes Album (1971), the band regrouped in London to work on a follow-up. Early into the sessions, keyboardist Tony Kaye was fired over his reluctance to play synthesisers, and was replaced with Rick Wakeman of the Strawbs, whose experience with a wider variety of keyboards expanded the band's sound. Four tracks on Fragile are group compositions; the remaining five are solo pieces written by each member. The album's artwork was the first to be designed by Roger Dean, who would design many of their future covers and stage sets. Fragile received a positive reception upon its release, and was a commercial success, reaching number four on the US Billboard Top LPs chart and number seven on the UK Albums Chart. Yes released an edited version of "Roundabout" as the album's sole single in the US, which reached number 13 and became one of the band's best known songs. Fragile has since been certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for selling over two million copies in the US. It has been remastered several times since its release, some containing previously unreleased tracks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPCLFtxpadE [Instrumental Intro] [Verse 1] I'll be the roundabout The words will make you out 'n' out I spent the day your way Call it morning driving through the sound and In and out the valley [Verse 2] The music dance and sing They make the children really ring I spent the day your way Call it morning driving through the sound and In and out the valley [Chorus] In and around the lake Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you Ten true summers we'll be there and laughing too Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be there with you [Verse 3] I will remember you Your silhouette will charge the view Of distant atmosphere Call it morning driving through the sound and Even in the valley [Chorus] In and around the lake Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you Ten true summers we'll be there and laughing too Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be there with you [Verse 4] Along the drifting cloud the eagle searching Down on the land Catching the swirling wind the sailor sees The rim of the land The eagle's dancing wings create as weather Spins out of hand Go closer hold the land feel partly no more Than grains of sand We stand to lose all time a thousand answers By in our hand Next to your deepest fears we stand Surrounded by a million years I'll be the roundabout The words will make you out 'n' out I'll be the roundabout The words will make you out 'n' out [Bridge] In and around the lake Mountains come out of the sky, they stand there Twenty four before my love and I'll be there [Instrumental Break] [Verse 1] I'll be the roundabout The words will make you out 'n' out I spent the day your way Call it morning driving through the sound and In and out the valley [Chorus] In and around the lake Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you Ten true summers we'll be there and laughing too Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be there with you ●ジャケ● 天割れなし、底抜けなし、スパイン抜けなし。 周囲のハゲは少なく良好。 コーナーの軽度の潰れあり。 リングウエア・スレがやや目立ちます(特に裏)。 見開きの内側はきれいです。 プロモのシールあり。 まあまあ良い状態だと思います。 VG(+)あるいはVG(+)以上です。 VG(+)あるいはVG(+)以上です。

Flipback cover printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHNbHn3i9S4

Yes / Close To The Edge (US, WLP, Atlantic, SD 7244) <13 September 1972> (ONE) ST-A-722619-DJ (TWO) ST-A 722620-DJ "Close to the Edge" is the fifth studio album by English progressive rock band Yes, released on 13 September 1972 by Atlantic Records. It is their last album of the 1970s to feature original drummer Bill Bruford before he left to join King Crimson. After touring their previous album, Fragile, the group assembled at Advision Studios in London to record a follow-up, ideas for which had been put down since February 1972. The album marked a development in the band's songwriting, with Jon Anderson and Steve Howe writing the 18-minute title track, the band's longest song at the time. Side two contains "And You and I" and "Siberian Khatru". Bruford found the album particularly laborious to make, which influenced his decision to leave the band after it was recorded. Close to the Edge became the band's greatest commercial success, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in the United States and No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart. A two-part edit of "And You and I" was released in the US which reached No. 42 on the Billboard Hot 100. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-rdL2KkvzY

The title track, a cover of The Beatles song of the same name, was a success, peaking at #13 on the Billboard R&B singles chart and #23 on the top 200. Also released as a single was a cover of Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild", which was less successful. The album is particularly noteworthy for the early appearance of guitarist Duane Allman, later founder of The Allman Brothers Band, who made some of his first recordings as a sideman on the album. His guitar work on the title track is credited as what first drew Eric Clapton to him, who two years later invited Allman to join him as part of Derek and the Dominos. Allman's performance on the album also compelled Atlantic Records executive Jerry Wexler to buy out his recording contract and use him in further Atlantic recording sessions, beginning his prolific career as a session musician. Pickett is also backed by members of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section on the album. Rhythm Section member Jimmy Johnson later credited Allman's performance on this album as the beginning of Southern Rock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y8Q2PATVyI
