レコード販売枚数がうなぎ登りとか、ダウンロード売り上げをレコードの売り上げが上回ったとかいうニュースが続き、ついにソニーがレコードのプレスを再開することになるなど、レコ・ファンには嬉しい流れが続いております。

1980 年代の終わり頃から今年までは、東洋化成のプレス工場が日本国内で操業する唯一のレコード・メーカーで、そこでカッティング・エンジニアとして活躍している手塚和巳氏は名カッティングで有名なお方。ネットで「手塚和巳」で調べるとごろごろ情報が出てきます。

この"The Velvet Underground & Nico"は、そんな手塚和巳氏カッティングによる、再プレスとしては決定盤とも言える内容・音質です。これを聴いて「オリジナル盤とコレがあればあとは要らないや」と思い、日本初回盤や「Nice Price 1800」シリーズで発売された日本盤などを売却してしまいました。今になっては少し後悔していますが、でも、同じの10枚もあってもしょうがないしなー・・・・。
