The Jazz Crusaders（のちのThe Crusaders）の設立メンバーだったWayne Hendersonの作品。The Crusadersの解散のころにThe Freedom Soundsという自分を中心にしたバンドで2枚のレコードを発表しておりますが、これがその1枚目。2枚目は" Soul Sound System"というタイトルで1969年にAtlanticから発売されました。

ぼくはもともとは偶然聴いたセカンド・アルバムが好きで、本作品を探していました。こちらも、いいですね。

ちなみに、Wayne Hendersonは2014年の4月5日に亡くなりました。
